About
Hi friends and neighbors!
My name is Lydia. I’m 27. I live in New York City. I work for a ballet company. I’m usually broke as a joke.
I’ve been kicking an idea around for a long time.
I like to call it “Cheapitarianism.”
Hilarious, right? I know, I’m insufferably clever.
What does “Cheapitarianism” mean (lest you think it’s just a catchy name)?
You know how people are vegetarians or “foodies” or just snobby about eating fancy food? And you also know how sometimes you’ve just got no money?
Well?
Think of how cool it’d be to make stuff yourself. Bake your own bread? Shake up your own butter? Grow some herbs? Do you think that stuff is hard? Do you think it costs a lot of money?
WELL?!
So I decided I wanted to find out. I want to find out how self-sufficient I can be in an urban setting and how it can cost me less money.
In short…
Make and eat awesome food.
Impress your friends.
Never get bored.
Do it for cheap.
That’s Cheapitarianism.
